Evaluating U. S. Supreme Court Justice Gorsuchs first months on the bench: Is he really that different from Justice Scalia? -- Judge Charles Porter

It's often reported in the news that the appointment and confirmation of the newest Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch has been the President's only success in working with the Congressso far.
So this course will focus on a review of JusticeGorsuchs votes thus far and on legal opinions made by the U.S. Supremecourtfollowing his appointment to this body in April 2017.
The analysis will include a comparison of Justice Gorsuchs opinions and legal positions with those of former Justice Scalia, as well as with those of the other members on the bench.

Judge Charles Porter recently taught the LLCC course:The U.S. Supreme Court and the Politics of Appointment. Hereceived B.A. from U.C. Santa Barbara; J.D. from U.C. Hastings; L.L.M. from U. of San Diego; C.P.A. from U. of Illinois. Retired Municipal Court Judge from Kern County, CA. Retired ex-officer from U. of San Luis Obispo School of Law, where he taught several courses, including Constitutional Law.
