VINCENT WOLFE: RSVP - Rare Songs, Very Personal - LIVE AT THE FLYING BEAVER PUBARET!
VINCENT WOLFE: RSVP - Rare Songs, Very Personal Feat: Mark Kieswetter. Saturday, Jan. 12th Showtime 9pm
Jazz-Cabaret crooner Vincent Wolfe, whose velvety voice has been described by Manhattan Transfer founding member Laurel Massé as "somewhere between Chet Baker and Mel Tormé" has been a favourite on the Canadian jazz scene for the past dozen years. Based in Toronto, Vincent has toured the club and festival circuit here, and in select U.S. and European cities. His 2008 cabaret debut in New York garnered him a prestigious MAC award nomination, and he performs there regularly. Vincent also spent two tears performing on "The most famous ocean liners in the world " Cunard's Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria as the Queen's Room Orchestra vocalist. A protégée of renowned jazz-soul artists like Marlena Shaw, and the late, great Phyllis Hyman, Vincent has met and worked with some of the top Canadian and American sidemen in the business. His warm stage presence and love of audiences is ever-present, whether he's in a duo, trio, quartet, or orchestra setting. Noted Canadian entertainment columnist John Kennedy has dubbed Wolfe "Canada's next jazz star-in-waiting." Vincent's recently released (third) CD, entitled "Weaver of Dreams" is garnering raves from fans and critics alike and has been particularly well-received in the U.S. and Europe. He's currently making waves in the big band scene as lead vocalist with the sensational Bob Cary Orchestra.
This intimate Pubaret performance will feature some of Vincent's rarely heard album material as well as tunes that he's "kept in the attic". An elegant and eclectic blend of cabaret and jazz, featuring the incredible Mark Kieswetter on keys.
