Laura by Vera Caspary
When Mark McPherson first falls in love with Laura Hunt, he knows he's in love with a phantomfor Laura is dead, and he's in charge of her murder investigation. From her portrait, her letters, her personal effects and from his contacts with the three men who loved her, Mark has created an image of a woman tantalizingly alive and real.
As the story progresses, Mark discovers lies, infidelities, and hidden identities, all leading him away from finding the real murderer. This play is riddled with surprises, full of dynamic characters and written with rich, fast-moving dialogue to keep audiences entertained and guessing "Whodunit" right up until the final scene.
Set in the Art Deco 1940s, "Laura" was made into a popular movie starring Gene Tierney and Clifton Webb. The play features a strong local cast, directed by Scott B. Randall, and is presented onstage at the Historic Everett Theatre, a restored vintage vaudeville house that's ideal for seeing live theatre.
