Alebrijes Workshop by Artista-Mobile $35pp. All materials included https://www.artistapaintingparties.com/ Learn how to make colored and sculptures made out of paper mache.
What are Alebrijes? Alebrijes are brightly colored sculptures made out of paper mache. They are traditional to the Mexican culture and were first created by artist Pedro Linares after a vivid dream he had when he was sick in bed. In this dream he saw both large and small whimsical creatures of bright colors and odd shapes. When he came out of the dream, he started recreating what he had seen, calling these creatures "Alebrijes." Today, Alebrijes are a large part of Mexican culture, and are made by local artists who create these unique sculptures from their own imagination, no Alebrije is the same as the previous one. Artista-Mobile is the only Artists in Washington State to offer this kind of Art. We work with Mexican Artist Antonio Sixto who creates and designs our Alebrijes. You will not experience this mix of culture and art offered in a painting session unless you travel to the heart of Mexico.
