Rescue Me
Rescue Me, St. Aidans 14th original musical comedy written, directed and performed by parishioners and friends continues the tradition of plays about the staff of the fictitious St. Dymphnas Vicarage. This year the Vicarage staff attempt to rescue dogs from the Animal Care and Control Shelter. Much of the play is told from a dogs perspective describing what it is like to be loved and abandoned by human companions.
Rescue Me is written and directed by John Wilk, Theatre Professor, City College of San Francisco with musical direction by Scrumbly Koldewyn, legendary Cockettes star. Choreography is by Rachel Nip who has created a memorable Scratch Ballet to Offenbachs Can-Can. The ensemble includes Robert Ayala, Anne Benninger, Megan Dueck, Dave Frangquist, Dora Guan, Janet Lohr, Rebecca MurrayMetzger, Marc Powell, Dan Rosen, Nancy Sabin and Perry Tom.
The play benefits St. Aidans Church and its community outreach programs including the weekly Food Pantry, the monthly Diamond Diners Senior Lunch and Resilient Diamond Heights, the neighborhood emergency preparedness work group.
