Live-Lit Performance
Everyone has a story to tell. Whats yours?
If you've always wanted to share your stories in front of a live audience, or if you're terrified of the prospect but want to do it anyway, this class is for you.
This course, led by Chicago's own Jeremy Owens (You're Being Ridiculous!), will help you develop your voice and storytelling skills for the purpose of live-lit performance. Its about finding and writing the story, and finding the right show to perform it in. This class is open to all experience levels, no experience in storytelling, or performance required.
In a safe and supportive environment, you'll learn:
various live-lit forms; how to generate ideas for a story; how to craft a piece for a live reading; how to prepare to read a piece out loud, and all about the storytelling community in Chicago.
You will practice your work for performance and receive constructive feedback and support. The class will culminate in a friendly live event where you'll share your stories with an adoring audience of friends and fans. What could be a better way to get started?
