The Browncoats of NYC present Serenity: A Fundraiser for Equality Now
The Browncoats of New York City announce our annual fundraiser taking place Sunday October 29, 2017 at Slattery's Midtown Pub in Midtown Manhattan. Our fundraiser is an annual tradition raising funds for Equality Now and other charities. The event will feature dinner, charity auctions of memorabilia and autographs, a screening of the film Serenity (2005) and more.
The event starts at 2pm and will include a fun afternoon and evening celebrating the fan-driven phenomenon that is Joss Whedon's Serenity. Fans young and old are welcome to join in the fun, meet new people, see old friends and have fun! Attendees will have the option to participate in various raffles and auctions to win a wide variety of items themed around the show Firefly and its unforgettable cast and all proceeds are donated to charity. Prizes will also be awarded to the best costumes based on Firefly, Serenity or the expanded Whedon-verse.
Tickets include lunch, a drink ticket and a screening of Serenity in the best way possible: with a room full of super-fans! The venue features a projection screen and multiple TVs throughout, so there are no bad seats.
