Santa Clara Ballet's Nutcracker

The annual production of Benjamin Reyes' full-length, traditional version of the ballet is a holiday favorite with sparkling choreography set to the renowned music of P.I. Tchaikovsky. This classic production follows the magical journey of young Clara, who receives a nutcracker as a gift at her family's Christmas Eve party. Later that night, her nutcracker magically transforms into a handsome prince, who leads her through an enchanted forest and on to the Nutcracker Prince's Kingdom.
The Santa Clara Ballet Company, now in its 44th year, spotlights acclaimed professionals alongside company soloists and pre-professional students from the Santa Clara Ballet School. Joining the production are dancers from several schools in the South Bay.
Andre Reyes, former principal dancer, San Francisco Ballet, will return to perform with the Santa Clara Ballet Company, joined by Marcos Vedovetto most recently with San Francisco Opera Ballet, Sharon Kung, with Dance Theatre of San Francisco and Mikhail Guz, Principal Dancer with the Santa Clara Ballet Company. Rowan Allegra will reprise her role with the Santa Clara Ballet as the Sugar Plum Fairy.
