Celebrate the artistic achievements of African-Americans in the early 20th century when art, music and poetry exploded out of Harlem, NY and took America by storm! Highlights include works by Langston Hughes, W.E.B. Du Bois, Booker T. Washington, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington and much more! Join three time Emmy Award winner Bobby Norfolk as he brings to life amazing poetry and prose, Chancellor of UMSL Tom George on piano, Holden Thorp on bass, and cabaret star Beverly Brennan as emcee and vocalist. The show is produced by Jan Dolan of Folktale Productions. Post show discussion on The Harlem Renaissance follows this dynamic performance.
