Transitional State
***Important Note*** Due to venue constraints we have decided to only hold the Saturday Jan. 6th 8pm Performance.
All tickets purchased for Friday will be honored on Saturday.  You may still purchase advanced tickets for Saturday night.

"Transitional State" attempts to describe, through a nonlinear narrative, characters overwhelmed by life transitions leading to a state of emotional unraveling, expressed through the movement and laughter. Through mercurial weight shifts we will explore how these sudden shifts, optimistically force us to adapt.

Through, gesture, body language, projection of energy, breath and muscular effort, "The Body Becomes the Messenger" plots the cause and effect of small changes of consciousness and energy in interactions with others. As the complexity of the dance unfolds, material appears and reappears, is altered and transformed as the context changes and evolves.

With Dancers: Allison Trotta, Anne Marie White, Bethany Logan, Coline Buencamino, Dana DeFabrizio, Leisa DeCarlo, Dot Armstrong, Emily Chamberlin, Gabbie Burgess,Gabriella Graziano-LoPresti, Jessica Lam, Lea Torelli, Liana Kleinman, ParkerGrant. Sarah Bolander, Sharayah Spruill, Zoe Warshaw

The companys work has been chosen among the best of the year by The Boston Globe, The New York Times, among others. The New York Times wrote gorgeously fluid movement.vibrant, imaginative...with a rare feeling for stage space.  Dance Magazine said "Tempering strength with vulnerability, she can turn sharp edges into soft corners with sensuous fluidity."

Marcia Siegel wrote about The Body Becomes the Messenger in ArtFuse I admire Donovans work. Shes making modern dance choreography thats organically developed and personally expressive, and has a formal shape to it, a rare combination these days.  The Dance Informa said, Through intriguing and innovative choreography, sensitive and committed performances.phrasework compellingly re-shifted and rearranged elements, combined with the intelligently crafted choreography, it was a visual feast.
