How its Done: Dowsing, with Roger Riley
How its Done: Dowsing, with Roger Riley
October 28, Saturday, 11 AM.
Dowsing: a type of divination; a technique for searching for underground water, minerals, or anything invisible by observing the motion of pointers... supposedly in response to unseen influences.
Local dowser Roger Ryley (from Mystic, of course) will demonstrate and explain the general techniques used in the art of dowsing, some history of dowsing, and touch on its controversial spiritual aspects and continued appeal in light of 21st century scientific skepticism. There are active dowsing societies in both the U.S. and abroad in Europe. $12, $10 NLMS members. Call 860-447-2501.
Roger explores southeastern Connecticut seeking to discover early Native American activities.
At the Custom House Maritime Museum, 150 Bank Street, New London, Connecticut.
