Oh, My GOLDness: A Cabaret
Prepare to be transported to a night spun from golden dreams, where glitter and glitz abound around every corner. Classic pinups will sizzle in the golden glow of the beach. Cleopatra and her consorts will captivate with their skill at balancing candelabras and candle trays. Dazzling disco will titillate, while bawdy burlesque will leave nothing behind but golden delight. Sexy showgirls will drip liquid gold. And dark denizens will dazzle and dominate. This show is sure to be nothing but 24-cabaret gold!
All that glitters will be gold for one night only on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the eclectically classy Hales Palladium. This one-of-a-kind cabaret will showcase Lunaria Dance Theatre, Seattle-based dance company, specializing in an innovative fusion of cabaret dance theatre and belly dance. Additionally, featuring well-known favorites among the Seattle art scene; Mark Siano, singer and comedian, La Gaviota, actor, dancer and drag queen, and Evilyn Sin Claire, actor and burlesque performer. The show features choreographies to well-known favorites, like Diamonds Are a Girls Best Friend, and also cutting-edge hits, like Blood in the Cut, that with an added twist of belly dance, make this a unique and exhilarating production.
In March of 2017, Lunaria Dance Theatre presented their first production, Moon Over Mahattan: A Cabaret, to a sold out audience of 260+ people at Hale's Palladium in Ballard, WA. Oh, My GOLDness: A Cabaret is produced by Mellilah, director of Lunaria Dance Theatre. Mellilah created the dance company in 2015 as another outlet to feed her passion to choreograph and her desire to step outside of the box of Egyptian style belly dance to return to her theatrical roots. The dance company is comprised of professional and award-winning dancers Alessandra, Amalia, Genevieve, Gevene, Jada, Shannon, and Mellilah, who collectively offer a diverse background in belly dance, theatre, ballet, ballroom, burlesque, tap, and jazz.
