Diamond Sings Dietrich
Maria Diamond presents a program of English, German and French songs made famous by the legendary film star and cabaret performer, Marlene Dietrich. Hear "Falling in Love Again," "Just A Gigolo" and many more favorites.
International cabaret artist Maria Diamond was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and raised in a large Russian family that loved to sing and drink vodka. The more they drank, the louder they sang -- everything from tangos to torch songs to traditional folk music. Since that auspicious south-of-the-border debut among inebriated relations, Maria has gone on to perform in multiple Bay Area venues including the Rrazz Room, the Cirque, the Octavia Lounge and the Concordia Argonaut Club. She speaks five languages and enjoys singing in all of them. She is honored to welcome you to this tribute to one of her icons, the remarkable Marlene Dietrich.
