The RAZ DUO at The Scottish Arts Club, Edinburgh
The RAZ Duo - Andre Krengel and Roland Krause - virtuosi guitarists from Germany, played at the Scottish Arts Club to considerable acclaim on their first visit. This gig sees them return with old favourites and many more which will astound with their musical prowess.
Andre and Roland combine a rousing mixture of musical genres. Melodies and grooves from the worlds of jazz, swing, Flamenco, blues, pop & funk and Latin America blending into a wonderfully harmonious whole. With refreshing, boisterous energy and passion André and Roland perform a repertoire comprising original compositions and surprising adaptations of well-known pieces while allowing a great deal of room for spontaneous interaction and improvisation. Tracing paths and adventures of these virtuosi as they enthusiastically travel the world, each piece in their stunning performance tells a story or has a little anecdote.

"Andre performed for us in 2016 with Lulo Reinhardt (Djangos grandnephew) and, watching the show standing at the door, my mouth gaping, I saw simply the most incredible musician. Andre, from Germany, is one of the leading guitarists. He can play in any genre or style. He was guitarist with Lynnard Skynnard. He has played with all the great gypsy jazz guitarists. He jammed with musicians from the Miami Latin & Cuban music scene. In 2005 he co-founded the prize winning band Sina Nossa ("Our Destiny"), a world-music fusion band (winners, World Creole Music Festival) and headlines at Womad festival.
