ZINGEN FAR SHOLEM (Singing for Peace) 6TH ANNUAL ADRIENNE COOPER LEGACY CONCERT AND AWARD CEREMONY
An evening of song and music to celebrate the legacy of late, visionary singer-scholar, Adrienne Cooper (1946-2011)

Music/songs will focus on Adrienne Coopers last musical project, Every Mother's Son and music of the awardee, Shura Lipovsky. Dreaming in Yiddish Band: Marilyn Lerner, Music Director; with Frank London & Michael Winograd. THE BAND: Marilyn Lerner-keys, Yoshie Fruchter-guitar, Richie Barshay-drums perc, Pablo Aslan-bass, Josh Horowitz-accordion, piano, Cookie Segelstein- viola, Frank London-trumpet, Adrienne Greenbaum- flutes, Michael Winograd- clarinet
THE SINGERS: Sarah Gordon, Shura Lipovsky, David Wall, and Daniel Kahn.
5th AWARD TO DREAMING IN YIDDISH RECIPIENT: Dreaming in Yiddish Award is annually presented to an individual pursuing the timeless, boundless, utterly unexpected adventure of working in Yiddish. This evening will honor The Grande Dame of Yiddish song, Shura Lipovsky, an internationally acclaimed Yiddish composer, writer and singer/storyteller. Shuras award will be presented by the 2016 awardee, Irena Klepfisz translator, writer, academic, activist and lesbian/feminist.
All ticket sales go towards the annual DREAMING IN YIDDISH AWARD and the realization of this concert.
