Ayurveda Cuisine For The Modern Appetite Ayurveda cuisine is as relevant today as it was when it was founded some 5000 years ago. It is a sister science and philosophy of yoga and has its unique identity in bringing mindfulness to the food on our plate as well to the cook (their state of mind) and the cooking process.
According to Ayurveda every climate has its own taste just like there are six seasons, so are there six tastes that bring satisfaction and balance at all levels- mind, body and spirit. Food like medicine, has the power to heal the body from within.
While it lays great emphasis on eating seasonal, plant based and local as a means of doing good to the community and environment, it sees equally important, how these foods bring balance to what our mind and body needs at that time and place. Health and wellness is the foundation of this holistic cuisine and practice.
Ayurveda beckons us to revisit our approach to food, ingredients and cooking techniques.
