An Evening of Poetry, Story, and Song with Moe Bowstern and Jon Campbell
Fisherpoet Moe Bowstern brings the listener to the decks and docks of Alaska and the Pacific Northwest through her words and songs. Her career as a commercial fisherman began at age 18 when she signed on as a deckhand and cook on an Alaskan long liner. Through her poetry, prose, and work as editor of Xtra Turf, a zine she began in 1996, Moe shares that world with her audience.
Jon Campbell owned a workboat before he owned a car. For the past 25 years, Jon has been writing and performing music based on the wide range of experience available to those people living in coastal regions, the tourists, the cuisine, the fisheries, cranky Yankees and an assortment of humorous and poignant characters.
