JFFA's Celebrate Diversity! Day of the Dead - Dia de los Muertos
Many of us remember being taught that the United States represented one of the greatest cultrual experiments the world had ever known a great melting pot where immigrants of many diverse cultures can melt together or assimilate into a harmonious whole with a common culture.
However, in recent years a better model has emerged a Cultural Mosaic a belief that it is cultural diversity, not homogeneity that creates a stronger, more enriching community.
A great illustration of this can be found in the arts. Artistic expression knows no borders and is common to all cultures. Yet art is also a reflection of the unique background of each and every person who creates it. We are stronger when we can learn from each other in all our diversity and thats worth celebrating! Please join us for one or for all our Friday events
PROGRAM 1: Celebrate Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead with a program by the PAHS Drama Club, Mexican folk music, and a dinner of Mexican fare.
