A Multi-Cultural Concert with Three Pound Note and Tibetan Open Road
Three Pound Note; Welsh & Cornish Traditional Folk

Three Pound Note features two ex-pats from the UK, both of Welsh descent with one amazing piper. Andrea Wild and Hugo Glanville have a broad and engaging repertoire of traditional folk music from their native homeland. They are excited to deliver the audience a rare opportunity to hear lively arrangements of Welsh folk music performed in the Welsh language. The two work with multi-instrumentalist and uilleann piper, Preston Howard to blend vocal harmonies, bouzouki, guitar, fiddle, whistles and pipes with Welsh and other Celtic elements from the Breton and Cornish music traditions.

Andrea Wild is a traditional singer from Liverpool, UK. Having a Welsh mother, Andrea grew up with Welsh and English spoken in the home. Andrea attended folk clubs in Northern England singing with her brother from an early age. Andrea now manages T he Stomptowners, Mrs Doyle & The Teapots, Three Pound Note and produces Global Folk Club.

Hugo Glanville grew up in the South of England where he was immersed in the UK folk scene as a youngster. He is foreman of Portlands Bridgetown Morrismen and leads community singing events including Portland Revels and Global Folk Club .

Preston Howard grew up in Northern California where he began learning the uilleann pipes during his teens with the help of many kind traveling pipers as well as the Pub Scouts, the local Irish music collective in Chico, CA.

Tibetan Open Road; Tibetan Music featuring Tamding Tsetan

Tibetan Open Road features native Tibetan singer and multi-instrumentalist, Tamding Tsetan. This is a truly rare chance to experience an authentic Tibetan performance. Open Road features traditional Tibetan instruments with percussion-driven accompaniment. The music experience comes even more alive with the colourful Tibetan costuming of the performers on stage. Tamding Tsetan was born in the small village of Widu in Amdo, Tibet.
He escaped from Tibet to India in 2002 after more than 43 days of walking, across the Himalayan Mountains. Alone and penniless with a yearning for education and freedom, he endured hardship and persevered becoming an accomplished musician in India. He also released his first music album Open Road, and performed in front of HH the Dalai Lama at Bodhgaya in 2012. Tamding Tsetan relocated to the United States in 2013. He lived and performed in LA before recently moving to Vancouver, Washington.
