Mad About You
An early music concert featuring songs and instrumental music composed for the 18th century English theater, and built around the career of the singer and actress Anne Bracegirdle. The concert program will include music composed by Purcell and Eccles, and will explore music written about "mad" characters, and the genre of "mad" songs; the tragic songs performed by female characters frequently portrayed as love-sick, crazy, and on the fringe of society.
