Murder Mystery - Death of a land girl
Moonstone Theatre presents another of their popular comedy murder mystery evenings in our Bistro.
Can you deduce whodunnit?
Death of a Land Girl
It is 1943 and Great Britain has been engulfed by the Second World War. Seale Hayne Agricultural College had become a training ground for the Womens Land Army, better known perhaps as the Land Girls. The Womens Land Army had been set during the First World War so that volunteer women could work on farms whilst the men were away fighting. It was a difficult and dangerous time but, as with any human endeavour, there was always room for a social occasion.
One such occasion was in full swing when a stranger arrived with tragic news. One of the Land Girls had been found dead in the lane that led to the College. She had been murdered. The stranger was Detective Chief Inspector Charles Appleby of the Devon Constabulary and he quickly began an investigation.
As the evening unfolds it becomes clear that at least four of those present had a connection with the deceased girl and, more importantly, a potential motive for wanting her out of the way.
All the clues will be there to track down the culprit, but will be correctly deduced? Detective Chief Inspector Appleby, with the help of the other guests, is determined to identify the killer before the evening is over.
