Ellen Umansky
One very special work of art--a Chaim Soutine painting--will connect the lives and fates of two different women, generations apart, in this enthralling debut novel The Fortunate Ones. Ellen Umanksy seamlessly transports readers from World War II Vienna to contemporary Los Angeles. Umansky has published fiction and nonfiction in a variety of venues and has worked in the editorial departments of several publications including the Forward, Tablet, and The New Yorker. She grew up in Los Angeles, and lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two daughters.
Single tickets are $18 each; Premier Passes (good for all JBF author events throughout the year) are $99.00.
Free student tickets are available only at the J's Box Office at the Staenberg Family Complex in Creve Coeur or at the door of the event with a valid ID.
