Women's Suffrage Centennial Commemoration March and Rally
Join the Historical Society of Rockland County, American Association of University Women, League of Women Voters, and New City Library for a
March & Rally to Commemorate the
New York State Women's Suffrage Centennial
When: Sunday, November 5, 2017, 12-4 pm
Where: Rockland County Courthouse and HSRC History Center

On November 6, 1917, suffragists won their long-fought battle for women's right to vote in New York State. To honor the centennial of that event, we will hold a historical rally in New City, Rockland County's seat, with a march to the Courthouse. Marchers will gather at noon in the parking lot behind the county's Sain Building (18 New Hempstead Road); we'll start walking at 12:30 and gather on the old Courthouse steps at 1 pm for presentations and entertainment.
Women, men and children are welcome! Dress in the spirit of the day -- preferably period attire, or all in white
After the rally, please join us at the Historical Society of Rockland County, 20 Zukor Road, New City, for refreshments, a last chance to view the special exhibition "Rockland Voices: Voting Rights for Women," and a special gallery talk by Katharine "Kickie" Fulmor.
