Edith Piaf was one of the great french cabaret singers of Paris in the early 20th century. She had a tragic life which ended far too soon at the age of 47. Her music was often autobiographical with her singing reflecting her life, and her specialty being chanson and torch ballads, particularly of love, loss and sorrow and you could hear the passion in every note. Her most famous songs are La Vie En Rose, L'Hymne D'amour, and Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien. Juhli first heard Edith Piaf singing La Vie En Rose when she was in high school and was immediately enthralled with the passionate singer. Juhli has been wanting to present this material for at least a decade and can't wait to breathe life into this fantastic repertoire.
