Asher Rhys Got Married Too Young & MARYSHELLEYSHOW
Asher Rhys Got Married Too Young is the story of Asher, who marries Lukas at 18, is a widower at 28, and spends his thirties dealing with his psychic in-laws while trying to hold on to his son. In MARYSHELLEYSHOW, eternal dirtbag teenage geniuses Mary Shelley & Emily Dickinson cope with family, friendship, the struggles of inter-species coparenting, and the desire to host just one damned variety show without Lord Byron showing up. For two nights only these shows come together in a glorious Double Feature duo-production; a celebration of queer families, their visibility, struggle, and survival, developed by Brooklyn based art incubator Undiscovered Countries. Written by Adin Lenahan and Barbara K. Begley, directed by Caroline Kittredge Faustine with design by Shakhed Hadaya, and featuring performances by Adin Lenahan, Barbara K. Begley, Grace Smith,* and William Hamilton Vaughn, with solo performances by special guests Garrett Gray, Cameron Toy, and others.

Undiscovered Countries is a Brooklyn-based incubator of new and developing interdisciplinary art.  We present subversive and accessible work by artists lacking conventional support to foster a diverse, engaged community. Over the past five years, Undiscovered Countries has  presented 46 consecutive monthly or bimonthly showings at various New York venues, including Goodbye Blue Monday, Brooklyn Fireproof, Quinns NYC, and our current home at Bizarre Bushwick. Over one hundred emerging artists have worked with Undiscovered Countries to produce their in-development works, which have gone on to full productions at places such as Ars Nova, Dixon Place, Tom Noonans Paradise Factory, Theater for the New city, and the PIT. Undiscovered Countries also presents work from writers and visual artists in their Yearbook program inserts, and in spring of 2017 launched their Blast Off Development Lab, to focus on developing full length works with emerging artists. www.undiscoveredcountries.com
