Have you always wanted to write a dystopian novel, but you aren't sure where to start? In this two-hour lecture/workshop, we'll dive into dystopian literature to uncover its historical significance and surging popularity. Through film clips and novel excerpts, we'll explore the techniques authors use to build unique characters and settings, then try some in-class writing exercises of our own. You can be a rabid fan or a newcomer to the genre -- everyone is welcome!
