Shizue Sano - Classical Pianist
PROGRAM: A Revolutionary Bastille Day Performance!
Shizue Sano has been active in solo, chamber music, and orchestral music for many years nationally and internationally. She enjoys sharing her music and connecting with the audience very much. It is her ultimate goal to bring happiness to them and uplift their spirit. She is a firm believer in the healing power of music.
She has given many performances locally and across the United States. She has performed in Japan, Belgium, and Poland as well. Not only appearing as the featured soloist with major orchestras but also performing the piano part in many of major 20th Century orchestral repertoires.
Shizue loves playing chamber music. She has performed with many prominent musicians, including late violin grand master teacher, Roman Totenberg. Her performance of Ravel's violin sonata with him is included in the CD set "The Art of Roman Totenberg". For more information, please click here to follow the link. She has also collaborated with cellist, Terry King, and recorded Aaron Copland's unpublished works for Cello and Piano.
Her solo repertoires span a wide range of periods, styles and composers, but she is probably best known for her performances of Mozart, Chopin and Liszt. A versatile and quick learner with a huge repertoire, she is highly sought after as a collaborative pianist as well. She also enjoys working with young musicians for their recitals and auditions, and gives them strong support.
Shizue's performance of Bach Partita No. 5 in D Major is now a part of the music library at Musopen.org.
