About comics:
John Mulrooney is an American Comedian/Humorist/TV Show host/Actor/teacher/spiritualist. Mulrooney was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He began his career on the Comedy Tonight variety show in the 1970's. He wrote comedy for the Tonight Show, and also performed stand up for the Tonight Show studio audience warm-up for over 165 episodes. Mulrooney competed on Star Search and lost, but it helped his early career immensely, as he was hired to work for the Star Search studio, writing comedy and doing audience warm up.
After Joan Rivers lost her show, John was asked to replace her as host of The Late Show on the FOX network. After a few months, The Late Show was cancelled due to low ratings. He could not compete with comedy's grand masters like Johnny Carson and Nightline's Ted Koppel. However the programming geniuses at FOX TV decided to give him a new show on Saturday Night called Comic Strip Live, which ran two years, a good run for a show of its kind at that time.
He also did other TV Shows such as An Evening at the Improv, Hollywood Squares, Comedy Central, Showtime and HBO and filled in as guest host for Pat Sajak on CBS the Pat Sajak Show.
Mulrooney wrote and starred for two seasons in a sitcom called Midtown North which aired on Comedy Central.
Joey Gay:
A native of Brooklyn, Joey Gay is a veteran stand-up comic and actor. Best recognized as a finalist in NBC's "Last Comic Standing," Joey is a regular headliner at comedy clubs across the nation. He's performed on Showtime's "White Boys in the Hood," "The Howard Stern Show," SIRIUS Satellite Radio's "The Radio Chick Show" and, most recently, on Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham."
As an alumnus of the Joanna Beckson Studio, Joey is trained in method acting and has appeared in numerous off-off Broadway plays and independent films. Joey has also been featured on of NBC's "Law & Order," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "Kathy Griffin's My Life on the D-List," and "Deadline."
Joey is currently working on a documentary about America's first comedy club, which includes interview from Woody Allen, Colin Quinn, David Brenner and others
