The Pearl Theater presents ANDY SYDOW
The Pearl Theater presents Andy Sydow
Twenty-five year old Andy Sydow already has a lot to talk about in his young music career. He has become widely respected in the local Colorado scene for his richly detailed songwriting, blistering slide guitar playing and surprising boogie-woogie piano chops. He has opened for luminaries Tab Benoit, Delbert McClinton, Dick Dale, Samantha Fish, Dave and Tommy Malone, Chris Duarte, Tinsley Ellis, Bob Margolin, and Johnny Hickman (of Cracker). He has also toured nationally with his band and played at festivals including Jazz Aspen Snowmass and Snowy Range Music Festival. He has been nominated several times for Colorado Blues Society Members Choice Awards for his songwriting and piano playing.
His band puts on a blistering 4-piece live show that covers a mix of americana, rock and blues. He has three albums out: self-titled Andy Sydow (2013), Trailhead (2015) and A Little Messed Up (2016).
"Sydow has a charismatic stage presence, and is an excellent songwriter, showing character beyond his years in both his lyrics and playing ability. With influences ranging from deep-south slide guitar, to jazz and funk, his songs take on an accessible, Americana feel, and he breathes life into traditional styles of music that allows for a new generation of fans, while still appealing to older-generations that grew up with blues, rock n roll, and folk music." Colorado Music Buzz
Opening for Andy will be local favorite Paul Bonnell and Friends.
