7:00pm PATAGONIA Piano and Synthesizer, Juan Namuncura Musical Expression from Patagonia, Argentina. Piano concert and songs in Mapuche language by indigenous Mapuche/Aymara composer Namuncura, accompanied by electronic resources and traditional Mapuche instruments.
8:00pm SOLO PIANO - IGNACIO MONTOYA CARLOTTO Works by Horacio Salgán, Astor Piazzolla, tangos of the Guardia Vieja (the informal 1890s-1915 group of musicans, poets, and dancers from which tango sprang), Chacareras, zamba of Cuchi Leguizamón as well as works in which classical tradition is mixed with improvisatory strokes. "A journey through 20th Century Argentine classical/contemporary/chamber music in one evening."
