2nd Annual Fresh Squeezed Ounce of Art Song
An award-nominated showcase of new poetic songs, delight in the beauty and power of the human voice as One Ounce Opera Company Members perform this years winning works.
***One night only! A dont miss new music event!***
In 2016, the Inaugural Fresh Squeezed Ounce of Art Song earned One Ounce Opera two Austin Critics Table Award Nominations, and was featured in TRIBEZA Magazines Insiders Guide to Austins Hidden Gems:
"Long before the three-minute pop song arose, there was the classic art song a short segment of poetry sung to piano accompaniment. (Imagine Brahms and Debussy as Bieber predecessors.) Bringing back the art song, One Ounce Opera presents brand new pieces from emerging composers.take in the soaring vocals and unique creations." TRIBEZA, Nov 2016
Delight in the beauty and power of the human voice with new poetic songs that explore the complexities and simplicities of our time, while inviting a few roaring laughs. Performances by One Ounce Opera Members Chelsea DeLorenz, Jake Jacobsen, Elise Leung Kotara, Brian Minnick, Maureen Papovich, Amy Selby, Julie Silva, Rebekah Smeltzer Staley, and Veronica Williams, with Tyler Mabry at the piano.
