Classical Music Concert
The Arnold Tourism Commission is pleased to announce a wonderful afternoon of classical music in Arnold, Missouri. This FREE program is being offered in conjunction with the Belleville Philharmonic Orchestra on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Arnold. The program features the Second Piano Concerto Number Two by Ludwig Van Beethoven, Op 19. World reknown Valentinal Igoshina will play solo piano. Other symphony pieces will highlight the great Korean-born Kyung-Jun Kim violinist playing Wienslawski, "Scherzo Tarantello, Op. 16." Rose Haselhorst (violin) will be playing a famous piece by the French Composer, Camille St. Saens. Valentina Takova plays the cello in a lovely manner on "Alleggro Appassionato," and numerous other very talented musicians will also join in the most outstanding of productions. A short "meet and greet" with the musicians will be provided for the attendees after the program, along with refreshments. We encourage you to come and share the fun of classical music at it's best. We encourage you to get your tickets early as this is an event that is expected to deliver a large crowd. Any donations of canned goods or money will be given to the Arnold Food Pantry, in Arnold, Missouri. The Arnold Food Pantry is recognized as the largest non denominational food pantry in the St. Louis area that receives no state or federal funding. Our funding relies entirely on the generous donations received from the St. Louis/Jefferson County communities, events such as this one and our Thrift Store.
BIO's: Valentina Igoshina is a Russian classical pianist with impeccable credentials. She took her first piano lessons at the age of four and by the age of twelve began attending the Moscow School of Music. She has served as a teacher of piano at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. She has played with many notable orchestras, such as the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Warsaw Philharmonic and the London Philharmonic. She currently divides her time between homes in Moscow and Paris.
Kyung-Jun Kim was born in Anyang, Gyeonggi, South Korea. He began playing violin at the age of six. His professional training includes time spent at the Korea National University of the Arts, The Julliard School and Yale University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yonsei University in Korea.
