Tracy Grammar & Jim Henry
Andy Goncalves & Boris Popadiuk

Tracy Grammar
http://www.tracygrammer.com

Tracy Grammar rose to acclaim as half of the "postmodern, mythic American folk" duo, Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer. From 1998-2001, the duo released three internationally celebrated, folk chart-topping albums featuring Carter's mytho-poetic Americana songcraft and in 2002, toured with Joan Baez, both as featured artists and Baez's band members. Called the new voice of modern folk music, the duo was clearly in its ascendancy when in July 2002, Carter suffered a fatal heart attack while the duo was on tour. He was 49; Grammer, 34.

Determined to honor the duo's journey and bring Carter's songs, and those of other favorite writers, to broader audiences, Grammer has kept to the road, releasing solo albums as well as selections from the Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer archives. Her latest release, LITTLE BLUE EGG, is a collection of intimate recordings from the duo's home studios. LBE was the #1 most-played album on Folk Radio in 2012, and once again, the duo were the #1 most-played artists for the year.

Grammer has become one of folk music's most beloved artists. Renowned for her springwater-clear alto, perfectly intoned violin, and guitar playing that is by turns percussive and delicate, Grammer is also a masterful storyteller with an ease and charisma on stage -- not to mention a riotous sense of humor -- that hardly belie her modest beginnings as Carter's reclusive accompanist. Stories about the duo's first meeting, Carter's quirks and fancies, or Grammer's own misadventures and missteps are woven thoughtfully into the set list to create a uniquely personal evening that connects audiences to performer, to the Carter/Grammer legacy, and most importantly, to one another. Additionally, Grammer has begun down the songwriter's path as part of RealWomenRealSongs, and is sharing her fresh, fledgling efforts -- and the stories behind them -- on her current tour, to the delight of longtime fans.

As one fan put it, "With Tracy, it's never just about the music. It's a soul journey."

Jim Henry
jimhenry.net

It's hard to know where to start when describing Jim Henry. He does a lot of things and he does them well. As a sideman, on a variety of electric or acoustic guitars, or on mandolin or dobro, Jim can render emotional sensitivity in one moment then tear into a rock or country solo with such fire it's hard to catch your breath. He is a master of adding whatever is needed at any musical moment.

At center stage, whether as a solo artist or leading a band, Jim delivers his finely crafted original songs with a smooth, rich baritone voice and engaging story telling and humor.

He has produced, recorded, played and traveled the world with Mary Chapin Carpenter, Paula Cole, Shawn Colvin, Alison Krauss, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Los Lobos, Alseep at the Wheel, Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings, The Weepies, Deb Talan, Eliza Gilkyson, Tracy Grammer, Susan Werner, The Boxcar Lilies...the list goes on and on.

At home on a festival stage and the intimate setting of a house concert, live and in the studio, playing acoustic or electric, solo or with a band supporting another musicians, the shear versatility of this skillful musician can be hard to fully appreciate...until you hear him play.

Andy Goncalves

Andrew Goncalves is a Portland based singer/songwriter who puts all of himself into the music....every strum, drumbeat, and belted out melody that he sings.  His guitar playing is clean and diverse, varying from fingerstyle to percussive with some flamenco overtones.  His music and lyrics are infused with his time out on the road of life, and the timeless search for home.  Andrew recorded his first album, "Inside Out" with the band "Boa Saida" back in 2010 and recently completed his long awaited first solo album, Fire Inside.

Boris Popadiuk

Boris Popadiuk is a native of Portland, Oregon, and has been playing cello for as long as he can remember.  He is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory, and the university of Miami Frost school of music where he earned a masters in cello performance. Trained as a classical cellist, Boris eagerly explores a wide array of genres. He has performed and recorded with classical, jazz and pop artists, from Jeremy Denk, Chris Thile and the Punch Brothers, to Gloria Estefan and Barry Manilow.
