Enjoy an evening of music spun by DJ Jamie Hayes, an open bar featuring fair trade wine and local craft beer, heavy appetizers and a donut and pour over fair trade coffee bar. Bid on dozens of items (many fair trade of course), experiences, and other offerings in our popular silent auction. Visit the Museums acclaimed Day of the Dead exhibit; from 5:30-7:00, it will be open exclusively to Globalfest guests.
Help us honor our Changemaker Award winners, Jerome McDonnell, host of WBEZ's beloved noontime Worldview program, and fair trade fashion heroes Mata Traders, both steadfast champions of Chicago Fair Trade and of all things fair trade. And hear from our very special guest, Nasreen Sheikh. Nasreen began working in a sweatshop in Nepal at age 11. At age 16 she launched a fair trade project and opened a fair trade store in Kathmandu.
We hope to see you at this celebration.
