Synopsis: A rich tale of a young indigenous scientist's struggle for truth between science and tradition as he enters an industry that many feel is threatening his homeland. His complex journey through the inner workings of GMO chemical companies and traditional Hawaiian elders reveals ancient values that can save our future.
Director: Cyrus Sutton
Cyrus Sutton grew up in Southern California and divided his time between the coast and mountains, Sutton's inventive approach to filmmaking became the basis of the outdoor surf website Korduroy.tv. Growing up near the ocean and participating in water sports, he sought to use cinematography to document the surf culture around him and on his travels. His career has been well documented by various national publications such as Surfer Magazine. Cyrus says he was lucky enough to find what he wanted to do at a young age and have worked to make it his life. It's been a crazy journey which has allowed him to settle on four acres in the Columbia River Gorge east of Portland, Oregon. These days he's working on film projects and providing media and marketing services for Guayaki Yerba Mate, Reef, Adorama Camera Retailers, Hydroflask and Manda Naturals.
Paintbrush Harvest

Synopsis: Renowned Ashland artist Betty LaDuke's recent work honors farmworkers as they plow, prune, weed and harvest our food. This 10- minute documentary, set in Southern Oregon, provides a glimpse into Betty's creative process and the people she so colorfully captures. Bettys work reminds us of the timeless and universal process of growing food and flowers.
Director: Katherine Roselli (K-rose Productions) reinvented herself as a documentary filmmaker in her early 60s , collaborating with editors to create short films that have been shown in film festivals around the country. Her most successful collaborations have been with Claudia (Storyline Pictures. ) Claudia has been an editor for commercial videos and documentaries for the past 10 years winning numerous awards. They meshed their roles in creating Paintbrush Harvest, working from past footage and photos provided by renowned Ashland artist Betty LaDuke, and were delighted to produce a film that sheds light on the people who harvest our flowers and food.
