The Abracadver Cabaret returns to the Wise Hall with their new show 'Mythology' on Oct 14th.
Many dark tales are born in an attempt to explain a world that is constantly trying to kill us. Passed down through generations, whispered in the fire light, creeping into our thoughts. To titillate or teach, wild stories shape how we see our surroundings. Is that seaweed tickling your toes, or a lonely Shui Gui trying to pull you under to join it in a watery grave? That high pitched howl on the wind, is it merely a coyote, or a tortured banshee predicting impending doom? These horrors are unseen but picture perfect in our minds, never proven, but always just behind the corner... waiting...
The Abracadaver Cabaret presents a series of horror inspired vignettes that bring together the awe and wonder of magic, the lust and spectacle of burlesque striptease, and the thrill and terror of storytelling.
The Abracadaver Cabaret is a collaboration of dancers, actors, magicians, visual artists, and poets who have come together because of their passion for horror. This show has been a sanctuary of shadowy showmanship, each year with a new theme, a new world of haunts to unveil to a thrill seeking audience. Concocted eight years ago by the delightfully deranged minds of Emma Eldritch, Melody Mangler and Gidget Gravedigger, this annual show has become a place for a diverse group of performers to explore the macabre side of their craft. Melody, an internationally renowned performer and Burlesque Hall of Fame award winner, holds this show very close to her heart This year we delve into the world of ancient superstitions, dark tales and mythology. Bringing forgotten terrors back to life for the pleasure of our audience!"
The eighth annual Abracadaver Cabaret takes place October 14th at the Wise Hall, which is rumoured to be haunted. The show is hosted by Gidget Gravedigger, David Quast and Red Heartbreaker as the Fates and features burlesque performers Emma Eldritch, Melody Mangler and Amnesia Haze; magicians Travis Bernhardt and Aleister Crane; actors Duncan Sheilds and Jesse Inocalla; opera singer Rhin Kelly and photographer Danielle Anathema. Guaranteed to fill you with morbid delight, this show is not recommended for the faint of heart.
