Through Truth We Triumph - From Luther to Bach
The Lakeville, CT-based, national award-winning music organization Crescendo presents: Through Truth We Triumph - From Luther to Bach. Celebrating the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation
Crescendos Fall Choral Concert will celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther his revolutionary music and words in settings of German Renaissance and Baroque motets, choruses and chorales. All compositions are based on eight of Luthers most famous chorales, and span a time period of about 200 years.
Works by J.S. Bach, Luther, Walther, Telemann, Schütz, Schein, Scheidt, Praetorius, Raselius, Osiander and others.
Crescendo Chorus and soloists, accompanied by an ensemble of Period Instruments. With Chris Belluscio, natural trumpet and Jane Hershey, violone. Directed by Christine Gevert.
This concert will also be performed the next day (October 29) at 4 pm at Trinity Church in Lakeville, CT
This Concert is a Take Part Culture Card Event of the Northwest CT Arts Council.
