Don't Sell My Guitars

(Documentary Short, 20 mins)

Scheduled to attend: Marysue Montgomery (featured in documentary)

Synopsis: A beloved country western musician whispers a final request to his wife, Honey, dont sell my guitars. The surprising revelation of what happened to his treasured, six dollar, Sears Silvertone first guitar is the focus of this moving love letter that explores loss, redemption and how far a father will go to protect his family.

Director: Lynn Montgomery won a Los Angeles Emmy for the documentary, Child Abuse, The Day After, about the failings of the child protective custody system. She won a Writers Guild Award for Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle, starring Jean Stapleton, Shelley Duvall and Joan Cusack. She created a series for NBC and Disney, The Torkelsons, about her mothers family in Oklahoma. She produced a nationally syndicated radio show aired on over 100 rock and roll stations around the country for Westwood 1. She wrote an award winning childrens book, Butt Ugly. Don't Sell My Guitars is her directorial debut.

Boomtown

Synopsis: The Washington Post called Battle Mountain, Nevada the 'armpit of America.' What would inspire an attorney and an electrical engineer to abandon comfortable city lives for such a locale? An inextinguishable passion for consumer fireworks. Meet Steve and Earl Cassorla. Friends and family questioned their sanity, but never their spirit. Their store serves countless customers from around the world and from every walk of life, all fueled by a love of family, friends, freedom, and anything with a fuse. Despite a dizzying selection of items, Steve insists they're in the 'the memory business.' And business is booming.

Legacy-Tom Scribner and the Santa Cruz Saw Festival

(Documentary Short, 28 mins)

Scheduled to attend: Director Denise Gallant and Thomas Spearance, musician performing on the saw

Synopsis: A documentary about the world-famous saw player, Tom Scribner, whose bronze statue is seen on Pacific Avenue in Santa Cruz. Narrated by Bruce Bratton and saw players from Tom's 39th annual saw festival.

Director: Denise Gallant has been doing video and film for over 40 years, including news editing at NBC, LA, CBS NY and graphics at ABC, NY. She yearly creates mini-documentaries for musicians at the NAMM TEC Awards event in LA. Denise also teaches video editing and production at Cabrillo College. Denise is internationally known as a video artist, co-creating a video synthesizer which produces audio-visual effects.

Cab Elvis

(Documentary Short, 10 mins)

Synopsis: Dave Groh, a cab driver who dresses like Elvis, finds himself not only in a battle with the city of Seattle but also the dark side of Elvis.

Director: Andrew Franks is a Seattle based director, editor, and cinematographer driven to capture the nuance of human narrative on film.
