'Honoring A Tradition' with The Soggy Po Boys
On November 18th, 2017, The Soggy Po boys will continue their Honoring a Tradition series at the Dance Hall. This installment of the series will be a sonic tour of the city of New Orleans. Take a walk down Basin street "where best folks all meet", or see the bigshots and the hotspots as you parade down Bourbon street. The show will examine why exactly New Orleans has captivated the imagination of so many composers and why they invite us to walk its streets. This show will also be a benefit for Lowernine.org. The Po boys have learned and gained a lot from New Orleans and it is now their turn to give a little back.

The concert will be preceded by lecture by Professor Bill Ross from the University of New Hampshire. He will speak about the city of New Orleans--it's streets, it's neighborhoods, and it's people. He will also talk about the importance of the continued rebuilding effort.

100% of the band's proceeds from the show will go to Lowernine.org--a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the long-term recovery of New Orleans historic Lower Ninth Ward following Hurricane Katrina and the levee breaches of 2005. They are actively engaged in the long-term recovery of the hardest-hit, slowest-recovering community in the Gulf Coast region.
The lecture will be at 7:30 p.m with the show beginning at 8 p.m.
