VISUAL APPROACH - Ian Maksin & Galina Shevchenko at the Fine Arts Music
VISUAL APPROACH
Ian Maksin - cello Ayse Celasu - piano Galina Shevchenko - animation
Friday, October 13, 7:30pm Fine Arts Building, Studio 410 410 S. Michigan Avenue, Chicago
Join acclaimed Chicago-based Russian born cellist and composer Ian Maksin for the last performance in his home base before he leaves on another tour!
For the first half of the program he will perform one of his favorite suites for unaccompanied cello by Johann Sebastian Bach, as well his own original music from his recently released albums Soul Companion and Zaria. As a special treat at the end of the first half, he will be joined by pianist Ayse Celasun for some short works for cello and piano.
For the second set Maksin will join forces with another Chicago-based Russian artist-animator Galina Shevchenko. Back in 2010 their joint performance in Chicago was sold out and received great critical acclaim. For this performance, Shevchenko and Maksin will unleash their creativity and allow their animation and soundscapes be born in real time, driven and determined uniquely by the feeling of the moment. This performance is hosted and brought to you by the Fine Arts Music - Performance and Scholarship Organization.
