Ahí está el detalle (Youre Missing the Point) (Mexico, 1940)
The plot here is too convoluted for words, but it starts when Cantinflas tries to score a free meal from his girlfriend, a maid to the patron. This film made Mario Moreno Cantinflas one of the most bankable stars of Mexicos Golden Age cinema and a national icon.

Calabacitas tiernas (Mexico, 1949)
The comic persona of Tin-Tan was intimately linked to Los Angeles through his trademark pachuco character, a cultural figure forged between two nations with his zoot suit, streetwise sensibility, bilingual wordplay, and embrace of swing. Here, he puts on an international music show to alleviate his financial troubles.
