Adam Piore
For millennia, humans have tried to master nature and transcend our limits. In Adam Piore's new book, The Body Builders, he explores how bioengineering is allowing researchers to unlock untapped resilience in the human body and mind and even enhance human performance. Real characters include a double amputee who has built bionic limbs that allow him to walk again, a blind woman who can "see" with her ears, and many others. Piore is a contributing editor at Popular Science and Discover Magazine and a former Newsweek correspondent.
Single tickets are $18 each; Premier Passes (good for all JBF author events throughout the year) are $99.00.
Free student tickets are available only at the J's Box Office at the Staenberg Family Complex in Creve Coeur or at the door of the event with a valid ID.
