Lysistrata by Aristophanes
Lysistrata by Aristophanes A production of the Pace School of Performing Arts In collaboration with 3LD Directed by Cosmin Chivu
October 27- November 5, 2017 Performances: Wednesday- Saturday @8pm, Saturday & Sunday @ 3pm, Sunday @7pm
The year is 2069. In a country dominated by men and devastated by its leaders' obsession with an endless war, Lysistrata unites the women of Greece by persuading them not to have sex with their husbands until a peace treaty can be reached. This modern adaptation of Aristophanes' classic comedy about gender and politics is a visually striking reimagination and features an original score by John Coyne.

About the International Performance Ensemble: The International Performance Ensemble incorporates the BA Acting and Directing programs into ensembles or companies that enter into a year-long process of collaborative development and production of full-length plays. Students take Performance Ensemble courses in their first and third years, alongside other core program requirements such as Acting, Movement, Vocal Production, etc. This is a highly individualized and professionally guided program, unique in the landscape of performing arts programs in the U.S. Students have a special travel abroad experience in the second year of the program to present their work.
