Fahrenheit 451
Based on the dystopian novel by Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451 tells the story of a future society where books are banned...and burned, where society is controlled by the media, overpopulation and censorship.
Thought is discouraged, and intellectuals are outlaws. Books are evil because they cause people to question and think.
It is in this future society that Guy Montag, a fireman whose job it is to burn books, runs into Clarisse. She talks with him about things he's never thought about - love, happiness, rain, and the content of those books he burns.
He ignores her at first, but then can't stop thinking about her and her questions. He speaks with her again a few times, and his mind is awakened.
As the story unfolds, Montag is directed to a group of thinkers and begins an incredible journey that he cannot ignore, nor stop, nor divulge. He becomes part of the resistance, a group of people who memorize books to preserve them.
