Time Remembered by Jean Anouilh
Time Remembered by Jean Anouilh Adapted by Patricia Moyes
"...a work of ornate artificiality that ends up by celebrating flesh and blood reality...charms both poignant and potent...great fun." --The Telegraph
"...a light, fantastic comedy..." -- NY Times
French dramatist and playwright Jean Anouilhs wonderfully dotty and beautiful Time Remembered (Leocadia) is a hilarious, exquisitely textured French confection containing a tasty bite of the absurd. Anouilh spins a romantic tale of a lovesick prince, his eccentric aunt, and the lengths she will go in order to save him. Considered one of Anouilh's pièces roses (pink plays) -- comedies where fantasy dominated, providing a fairy tale atmosphere. Time Remembered first delighted London and Broadway audiences in 1957 starring Richard Burton, Susan Strasberg and Helen Hayes; the IRCs fresh interpretation is a mid-winter antidote for our time!
