CIAS Harvest Dinner 2017
Join us for an evening celebrating local food and sustainable agriculture in Wisconsin. Delicious appetizers and a three-course meal will feature ingredients sourced from Wisconsin farms. Keynote speaker Chris Holman (pictured at left), Nami Moon Farms, will speak about Changing Seasons, Changing Climate. Additionally, the Nicaraguan dance troupe Las Hijas del Maiz will perform.
5:30-6:15pm: Reception with appetizers and cash bar 6:15-8pm: Dinner, dessert and presentations
The Harvest Dinner is a benefit for the Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems (CIAS) at UW-Madison. Funds raised through this event will support CIAS research, farmer training and outreach on sustainable farming and food. If you can't attend the Harvest Dinner but wish to donate to CIAS, please visit our website.
Ticket sales close on Sunday, October 22 at 11:59pm. Tickets will not be available at the door.
This is an adults-only event. Alcohol will be served at a cash bar.

Featured speaker
Chris Holman and his partner, Maria Davis, own and operate Nami Moon Farms outside of Stevens Point. They produce pasture-raised poultry and hogs, chicken and duck eggs, and perennial and annual crops. Chris and Maria are lifetime members of the Wisconsin Farmers Union, and Chris currently serves on the state board. He is also on the National Farmers Union board as the representative for next generation issues. As a veteran, Chris has worked closely with the Farmer Veteran Coalition, and he has also served on USDA's Advisory Committee on Beginning Farmers and Ranchers. Appetizers Bacon wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese Sweet potato and beet skewers with garlic aioli dipping sauce
1st Course Turnip, leek and potato soup
2nd Course Cider-dijon pork chops, with roasted sweet potatoes and apple-rosemary garnish
OR
Wild rice cakes topped with fresh mozzarella, with roasted brussels sprouts (vegetarian)
3rd course Apple upside-down cake with vanilla ice cream
