Cabaret Poe 2017
Cabaret Poe, presented by Q Artistry, will open its ninth run on Friday, Oct. 13 in the entertainment complex on Circle Center Mall's fourth floor. The musical re-imagining of Edgar Allen Poe's most famous works cleverly brings to lifenumerous stories and poems including The Raven, The Tell Tale Heart, The Fall of the House of Usher, and Annabel Leethroughsong and storytelling.
With music, dancing, classic literature references, and a seasonally appropriate mood, the show is a perennial pleaser for adult and young adult audiences. The show is not recommended for kids under the age of 10,butCabaret Poe is a perfect experience for high schools. Q Artistry offers day shows for large groups at a ticket price.
In Cabaret Poe, local playwright and composer Ben Asaykwee weaves together streaks of dark humor with classic horror and performs alongside a four person ensemble including (at alternating performances)Julie Lyn Barber, Jaddy Ciucci, Georgeanna Smith-Wade, Rebekah Taylor, andRenae Stone.
