Knitting in Nature
Spend two beautiful fall mornings at Caponi Art Park learning the basics of hand knitting. This class will teach you how to cast on, knit, purl, and read a pattern using the rustic Wheat Scarf by Tin Can Knits. No prior experience is required--just bring your materials and enjoy creating something with your own hands in our beautiful new outdoor classroom space.
Required materials: Wheat Scarf pattern from Tin Can Knits (free at http://tincanknits.com/pattern-SC-wheat.html; please print and bring your own copy), 400 yds worsted weight yarn, US #8 straight needles
Cheryl Read (not to be confused with Executive Director Cheryl Caponi) has been knitting for over a decade. Prior to moving back to the Twin Cities, she taught at Yarn Harbor in Duluth. Cheryl always has a few projects on the needles and especially enjoys knitting socks and sweaters.
