SIX SOLOS - Legend, Myth & Nature
Conceived, Directed, Choreographed, and Narrated by: Lynn Needle Artistic Collaborators: Alwin Nikolais, Ruth Grauert, Claudia Gitelman, Annie Hickman, Dr. Dinu Ghezzo, John Crawford and Mickey Hart Performed by: Alberto DelSaz, Janette Dishuk, Tina Mayers, Courtney Karam & Nikki Manx
SIX SOLOS ~ Legend, Myth & Nature - an evening spanning SIX+ decades of modern dance history and storytelling includes Nikolais' seminal work Noumenon, Gitelman's Impromptu, and Needle's excerpts from HEAVEN and EARTH, a creation myth based on The Secret Life of Plants. The arc of the evening takes the audience through a visual and sculptural feast for the eyes that celebrates abstraction, nature, beauty, legend, and dance as an art form. The concert unfolds with interludes of spoken text by Needle, giving each solo context, and includes elaborate costuming, jeweled masks, deconstructed modernism, and features a kaleidoscopic film.

Emerging Artists returns with their one-of-a-kind festival. Visit the theater any evening during this three-week event, and you'll find yourself transported in a number of surprising ways: by a single performer embodying a whole host of characters; by a more experimental theater piece "done differently" that challenges and delights; by a cozy two-person show exploring relationships; or perhaps by a bouncy new musical that will have you humming. Emerging Artists has always been about new works, new talents, new voices. That's never been more evident than now.
NO REFUNDS will be granted.
