The Line
The Line is a contemporary dance work where the physical movement, live music, and visuals are completely integrated.
The Line by choreographer Lori Hamar embraces a clothesline to physically depict commonality among people and the individual struggle toward developing a sense of others. Dancers Francesca Frewer and Stacey Horton move from confronting the line to being suspended in clothing hanging on the line.
Linda Bouchard composed the score and video. She has designed a visual environment, where clotheslines become flags and eventually prayer flags in an imperceptible progression of light. The music will be performed by Continuum Consort. Their presence is inherent to the choreography through engagement with dancers, live video, and manipulation of the clothesline.
The performance will take place on October 28 at 8:00pm. The Line is choreographed by Lori Hamar to music by Linda Bouchard as performed by Continuum Consort. Co-produced with Lori Hamar.
